Rubbish & Recycling Program

GFL GARBAGE TRUCK

Introduction

The City of Taylor's curbside waste hauler is Green for Life Environmental Services, which offers a major upgrade in overall services over previous vendors.

GFL picks up trash, recycling and bulk items WEEKLY. Containers are used for trash and recycling pickups. Customers should fill their trash and recycling containers responsibility with the proper items only, and should not overfill the containers (overfilling prevents the lid from closing, and often prevents the hydraulic arm of the truck from picking up and dumping the container properly.

Bulk collection does have its limitations. GFL officials note that resident should use common sense when it comes to putting out bulk items at curbside. Items that can be lifted by one man and deposited inside the truck are acceptable; overly large items are not. If a resident has a major renovation project, concrete or walls, curbside bulk services are not the place for those items. Instead, they should contact the City or a private vendor for special waste hauling service.
