COVID-19 UPDATE: Are you interested in testing a vaccine?

Michigan Medicine announced that it will partner with the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca in a Phase 3 clinical trial to test its COVID-19 vaccine. That and more in today’s Wayne County Report for September 2, 2020.

The goal will be to recruit 30,000 people over two years across several sites nationally — including the University of Michigan — to test safety and immune responses to the vaccine. To enroll in the AZD1222 COVID VACCINE Study, you must be at least 18 years old, and in good or stable health.

Those with underlying medical conditions may still participate in the trial if the disease is stable. Participants also cannot have or previously had COVID-19.

The countywide health data for September 1, 2020, indicated that Taylor registered five new cases of COVID-19, upping its overall total to 972. No new deaths were reported; that total remains at 75.

Take note of the offering below, if you are Wayne County resident who lost prescription coverage due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
