Fall street sweeping to begin October 2

street sweeper

The City has announced its fall 2017 street sweeping schedule, the first half of which will run tentatively from October 2 through November 3. A second sweeping will take place in November, weather-pending. The schedule is heavily dependent on the weather.

Residents should note that City-provided street sweeping DOES NOT include leaf pickup. DO NOT sweep your leaves into the street. Leaves should be put into compost bags for pickup by GFL Environmental on a weekly basis.

In addition, the City encourages residents whose property includes or borders on drains to do their best to maintain those areas. Keeping drains clear and open can prevent needless street flooding and inconvenience.

The first week will focus on major roads:

  • October 2 – Pardee and Superior
  • October 3 – Goddard, Holland and Trolley West
  • October 4 – Beech Daly, Brest, Universal, Delta
  • October 5 – Wick, Monroe and Trolley East
  • October 6 – Racho, Plaza South, Huron, Superior

Residential streets begin on October 9:

  • October 9 – Telegraph-Beech-Ecorse-Van Born grid
  • October 10 – Telegraph-Pardee-Ecorse-Wick grid (including Byers cutoff)
  • October 11 – Telegraph-Beech-Van Born-Ecorse grid
  • October 12 – Pelham-Monroe-Van Born-Ecorse grid
  • October 13 – Telegraph-Beech-Wick-Goddard grid`
  • October 16 – Telegraph-Monroe-Ecorse-Wick grid
