5. New Business Checklist

   All items listed below must be completed in order to obtain a certificate of occupancy and business license from the City of Taylor.

   1. Submit a Letter of Intent to the Planning Department
   2. Receive Notice of Zoning Approval from the Planning Department
   3. Verity property taxes are current with the Treasurer's Office
   4. Obtain a final water reading from the Water Department
   5. Apply for occupancy inspections with the Building & Planning Departments
   6. Apply for a business license with the Clerk's Office
   7. Schedule a fire inspection with the Fire Department
   8. Apply for renovation permits with the Building Department (if applicable)
   9. Correct all insufficient items resulting from occupancy inspection with the Building Department
   10. Schedule final occupancy inspections with the Building Department
   11. Obtain Certificate of Occupancy from the Building Department
   12. Receive Business License from the Clerk's Office
