    This is the final Downriver-based Wayne County Hazardous Collection date of 2017. Wayne County residents only (must show ID). Accepted: All types of hazardous waste. No radioactive materials, explosives, household waste, yard waste, commercial waste, industrial waste, tires, appliances and roofing.

  2. Animal adoption event at shelter

    October 14, 2017, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM @ Taylor Animal Shelter

    The Taylor Animal Shelter, 25555 Northline Road, will feature extended hours on October 14 due to an heavy population of adoptable animals. It will be open for one its regular "Adoption Saturdays" from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 14. Anyone is welcome to stop by during those hours to take a look at the pets available and discuss any possibilities with animal control officers.

    The 94.7 WCSX Detroit's Classic Rock Bonfire in Heritage Park will feature a live broadcast onsite, beer, food, bands, games and vendors. For the kids, there will be games, Petting Farm, bounce houses, face painting and tractor and wagon rides.
