Butterfly Day is Sunday at the Taylor Conservatory

The Taylor Conservatory Foundation will host Butterfly Day at the Conservatory from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 29.

Everyone is invited to see live butterflies raised from eggs in local neighborhoods. Check out the conservatory's butterfly garden, learn how easy and fun it can be to raise butterflies and discover how to help these flying jewels of the garden.

The Southeast Michigan Butterfly Association and the Taylor Garden Club will be on hand to demonstrate lots of ways to attract butterflies to your yard. There will be many different styles of butterfly "houses" on hand to show the different creative ways to raise them.

There will be face painting by Flutterby Faces, butterfly craft making, prize giveaways, refreshments and more.

Admission is $2 with all proceeds going to garden development and educational programs at the conservatory, which is located on Northline Road, just east of Pardee Road and the Heritage Park Petting Farm.
