Everyone is invited to World Series opening ceremonies, fireworks at Taylor's Heritage Park

Opening ceremonies of the Junior League Baseball World Series are scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday, August 11, at Taylor's Heritage Park, 12111 Pardee Road.

The festivities include a Parade of Champions, speeches by dignitaries, a special ceremonial first pitch involving all of the teams and fireworks. Admission to the opening ceremonies is free. The public is welcome.

The World Series brings the best teams of 13- and 14-year-old players from around the world to Taylor. Games get under way at noon Sunday, August 12, and continue through the world championship game at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18.
