Fish and Loaves Food Pantry golf outing is September 16 at Lakes of Taylor

The second annual golf outing to raise funds to support the Fish and Loaves Community Food Pantry in Taylor is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. September 16 at Lakes of Taylor Golf Club, 25670 Northline Road, Taylor.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. Included in the day are free practice range balls, coffee, a continental breakfast, 18 holes of golf with a cart for foursomes, a professional scoreboard, a snack at the turn, a two-hour open bar, a full buffet luncheon from 2 to 4 p.m., a silent auction, a live auction, closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive contests for both males and females and a hole-in-one contest for a chance to win one of several cars.

The day of golf and related activities is $125 per golfer. Sponsorship opportunities also are available.

Fish and Loaves Community Food Pantry provides food for hungry people in Taylor and five surrounding communities. In fact, since the grand opening in July 2008, the pantry has supplied more than two million pounds of food.

The pantry resembles a grocery store and allows clients to shop with dignity for food items they need five days a week. The staff is entirely volunteers.

Fish and Loaves is a 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax-deductible.
