FORMER PITCHER TO ATTEND SHOP'S RIBBON-CUTTING SATURDAY
Three-time American League All-Star and 1968 World Series Champion Denny McLain will be on hand Saturday (April 5) morning when Fan Favorites celebrates its grand opening in the Taylor Sportsplex.
Mayor Rick Sollars will attend the ribbon-cutting event, as will other elected officials in the city. The public is welcome. The ribbon-cutting is scheduled at 10 a.m.
McLain was the '68 AL MVP and Cy Young Award winner when he won 31 games, becoming the first (and only) 30-game winner in the Major Leagues since Dizzy Dean did it in 1934.
Fan Favorites is a family-owned memoribilia shop now located inside the Sportsplex at 13333 Telegraph Road.
