Free mortgage foreclosure prevention counseling available at Congressman Dingell forum

Wayne County residents in need of mortgage foreclosure prevention counseling can find it for free during a seminar starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, at the Booker T. Dozier Recreation Complex in Inkster.

The seminar will be hosted by U.S. Rep. John D. Dingell, who is partnering with the Wayne County Mortgage Foreclosure Program and the Michigan State Housing Development Authority to provide struggling homeowners. The goal is to provide struggling homeowners an overview of the federal and state programs available and to put them in touch with local housing and mortgage foreclosure prevention counselors.

Participants can develop a plan to modify their mortgage. Borrowers should bring documentation for their income, expenses, debt and mortgage.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Congressman Dingell's office at (313) 278-2936.
