MAN, 67, HELD WITHOUT BOND ON SEX CHARGES
Taylor Police have charged a 67-year-old Taylor man with multiple criminal charges alleging he sexually assaulted several young girls.
Bennie Grimes, 67, of Taylor was charged April 11 in 23rd District Court before Judge William Sutherland with 35 counts of charges including multiple counts of first-degree criminal sexual assault, second-degree criminal sexual assault, child abusive activity and using computers to commit crimes.
On April 7, Taylor Police were contacted by Melvindale Police regarding a police report filed in that city, concerning an alleged assault by Grimes in Taylor. An investigation was immediately conducted.
The charges against Grimes involve him allegedly sexually assaulting, videotaping and photographing four female victims between the ages of 13 and 15.
Grimes was remanded without bond by Judge Sutherland. He is scheduled for a preliminary examination in 23rd District Court on April 21.
