MJR DIGITAL CINEMAS PLANNING DECEMBER OPENING FOR 'GRAND TAYLOR EXPERIENCE' IN BURLINGTON SHOPPING CENTER
MJR Digital Cinemas is going to begin renovations on their all new Grand Taylor Experience. There will be 10 auditoriums, all featuring crystal clear digital projection along with over stuffed leather electric fully reclining seats with footrests. It will have wall to wall and floor to ceiling wrap around screens with all Dolby Digital Sound.
This theatre will also feature the MJR user friendly Movie Reward Program and their famous free refill on pop and popcorn, any size with same day ticket purchase. To enhance your movie going pleasure, the MJR Studio Bar will be in the lobby where you can enjoy a cocktail, beer or wine, before during or after the show. In addition, the auditoriums will feature large, comfortable recliners that put the movie experience “over the top” for the customer.”
The building will be located in the Burlington Shopping Center across from the Southland Mall. Renovations to begin late July with an expected opening of Christmas 2014. The Grand Taylor Experience has Mayor Rick Sollars of the City of Taylor excited.
“Our partnership with Michael Mihalich and MJR is just another plus in the Eureka business corridor,” Sollars said. “We’re extremely excited to have Michael and MJR come in as the newest member of what is an ever-expanding group of outstanding businesses in the Eureka Road area. Dealing with Michael is an honor. He’s a really accomplished business leader. He’s the type of business owner we want in this city.”
The MJR announcement comes on the heels of several others along Eureka.
Menards is planning to replace the old Gibraltar Trade Center and will give an entire new look to the I-75/Eureka corner. Menards plans to completely raze the site and should attract even more new businesses (yet to be announced) into the 80-plus acre location before it opens next year. While Menards will stand to one side of the new MJR location at the Burlington Shopping Center, on the other side will sit a new Henry Ford Health System OptimEyes location (currently under construction); new facilities for Party City, Lumber Liquidators and Sky Zone Trampoline Park in the Taylor Retail Center; and even a new Panera Bread.
“When you see this type of development, it has great economic impact and job creation,” said George Sutherland, Taylor’s new economic development manager. “We’re extremely excited about the Grand Taylor Experience and the rest of the new developments along Eureka. These are big plusses for the city.”
