November 7 dinner at St. John's Lutheran will benefit family of Lt. Kromer

St. John's Lutheran Church will host a roast beef dinner and silent auction to benefit the family of Taylor Auxiliary Police Lt. Dan Kromer, who was killed in the line of duty. The event is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, November 7, at the church, 13116 Telegraph (at Northline Road), Taylor.

Dinner tickets are $10 each and will be available at the Taylor Police Department and St. John's beginning Monday, October 4. Organizers said donations to the dinner or auction will be greatly appreciated.

Lt. Kromer was a 20-year member of the all-volunteer Auxiliary Police Department. He was killed the evening of September 7 while assisting motorists on the I-94 freeway. Nino Edward Delpiano, a 40-year-old Dearborn man, faces six charges, including second-degree murder.
