Oakwood Healthcare directors appointed to state board
Two Oakwood Healthcare Inc. executives have been appointed by Governor Jennifer Granholm to serve in statewide advisory positions.
Lisa Rutledge and Roy Sexton were appointed to the Council for Labor and Economic Growth to represent business interests.
Rutledge, a Taylor resident, is the corporate director of community outreach for Oakwood Healthcare. A graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Social Sciences, she has worked for Oakwood for 15 years.
Sexton is the corporate director of strategic communications and planning for Oakwood Healthcare. A Saline resident, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wabash College in English/theatre, a Master of Arts in theatre from Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan-Flint. He has worked for Oakwood for 10 years.
The Council for Labor and Economic Growth was created in 2004. Members of the board serve in an advisory capacity to the governor and the director of the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth, and are charged with the development and continuous improvement of a Statewide Workforce Investment System.
"I know that you will do the people's work with excellence and integrity and that you will never take lightly the responsibility the people have given you," Granholm wrote in the appointment letter.
