The Records Bureau of the Taylor Police Department is currently staffed by three civilian employees and one sworn police officer. The Records Bureau can be found on the second floor of the Taylor Police Department.
Hours:  The Records Bureau will be open from Tuesday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (excluding holidays).

Fees Schedule:
Incident Reports $12
Fingerprints (Taylor residents) $11
Complaint Hearing with Fee $25*
Sex Offender Registration $35**

*Fee is refundable at hearing appearance
**$25 to the State of Michigan;
$10 to the City of Taylor

Discovery & Subpoena Fees:
Police Report(s) $12 each
Additional Pages $1 each
Photos $3 each
Video Tapes $25 each
CD’s/DVD’s $25 each
Audio Tapes $15 each


Accident Reports:

Available at the Records Bureau or on the internet at:  https://payments.clemis.org/extservices.

Traffic Tickets:

Traffic fines can also be paid at the 23rd District Court or on-online at: https://payments.clemis.org/extservices

Wants or Warrants:

If you want to know whether an outstanding want or warrant exists for you, you must appear in person at the front desk of Taylor Police Department or the 23rd District Court.  No specific want or warrant information is provided over the phone. 

Criminal Background Checks/Police Clearance:

The Taylor Police Department no longer conducts police clearances and background checks. 

A request for criminal conviction history can be obtained through Internet Criminal History Access Tool (ICHAT). 
Information forms are available in the document rack int he Police
Department lobby.

If you need a more extensive search, please contact the Michigan State
Police for a “Criminal Conviction History.”  It must include the
subject’s full name, race, sex and date of birth, or fingerprints and
sent directly to the Michigan State Police.  For further information,
visit the Michigan State Police website.
