Registration under way for free training for professional and family caregivers

A free interactive one-of-a-kind training session for professional and family caregivers will take place Wednesday, September 22, at the Downriver Campus of Wayne County Community College, 21000 Northline Road, Taylor.

"Accepting the Challenge" will build hands-on skills for the middle stages of Alzheimer's disease and other related dementias. Master trainer Teepa Snow will teach participants effective strategies when caring for people with demewntia. Participants will learn helpful techniques and the value of consistent positive reinforcement and active engagement.

Interested participants are asked to choose one session from the following: 9 to 11:30 a.m., 1:30 to 4 p.m. or 6 to 8:30 p.m.
