RESIDENTS PLAN TO SPRUCE UP TELEGRAPH-GODDARD INTERSECTION ON AUGUST 16
A group of Taylor residents, led by Karen DePriest, is planning a 9 a.m. Saturday, August 16, weeding of the flower beds at Telegraph and Goddard roads.
"I'm also trying to get some donated ornamental grass from area nurseries to plant," she said. "I'm just trying to spruce up the area. I have always loved to see communities come together to make it appealing to people that pass through.
"So many people pass through Taylor traveling down Telegraph. It should be an area that is appealing."
The Telegraph-Goddard intersection was selected because it is a welcoming area in the community and it also displays flags.
DePriest has reached out to the area nurseries to donate ornamental grass to plant the same day. She has about 15 volunteers and would welcome anyone who would like to help.
"More volunteers will help the morning go by quickly and also show are community how many people really care," she said.
