The City of Taylor remains in a SNOW EMERGENCY situation today, Thursday, January 9. However, the outlook is brightening.

The great majority of the city streets have been plowed although the Department of Public Works' trucks are still working on pockets of the community and reworking on other areas. Most major, secondary and residential streets appear in good condition. Traffic speeds have picked up. Drivers, however, should use caution because many roads can range from clear to snowy to icy.

The Taylor School District remains closed.

All city buildings are open. The City Clerks office, closed periodically yesterday and the day before, is open. The library is open and plans to remain open the entire day. The senior center is open but the meals on wheels program is not available today.

Trash pick up has been completed for the Monday and Tuesday run and the haulers are working on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday portions. If your pickup day was on Monday or Tuesday and your trash has not be picked up, please alert City Hall workers at (734) 287-6550.

Special trash pickups have been delayed by the emergency. Mailbox replacements have been ordered based on the complaints received through Wednesday afternoon.

Today's weather forecast is for sunny with a high of 18 degrees. Tomorrow will be cloudly with a high of 37. Satruday is calling for a high of 41 and rain, with partly cloudy the forecast for Sunday and Monday with temperatures in the mid-30s.

Please return to the City of Taylor Website for future updates.
