SNOW EMERGENCY UPDATE: Trash/recycling running behind; library to close early at 5 p.m.
The City of Taylor remains under a SNOW EMERGENCY at this time, although the weather and overall outlook has improved this morning. Parked cars should remain off city streets so that DPW plows can do their best work.
Snow plowing was expected to be completed last night, although there may be some pockets in the city that still need work or need to be reworked.
Trash and recycling collection is currently running 1 to 1 1/2 days behind schedule, according to reports this morning. Recycling pickup might be even slower, because of some hydraulic problems involved with the collection vehicles due to a dangerously cold weather.
City buildings and services are up and operational, with two exceptions -- the Taylor Community Library is closing early at 5 p.m. today, and the Clerks Office at City Hall is closed until 3 p.m. today.
The City of Taylor appreciates your patience in these matters during this difficult winter season.
