TAYLOR AUXILIARY POLICE: Registration drive scheduled for the weekend
The Taylor Auxiliary Police Department is holding a recruitment drive from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, December 21, and Sunday, December 22. at the Southland Center.
There will be a signup table near Macy's in the mall.
The Auxiliary Department is a 100-percent volunteer organization that supports the Taylor Police Department. You must be 21 or older to volunteer, and have no felonies on your record. You also must be physically fit.
Members must agree to volunteer for at least 20 hours a month duty, which includes a meeting and two scheduled patrol rides. Residendy in Taylor is not required, but volunteers are ask to live within a 20- to 25-mile radius and have an ability to respond within an hour's notice.
Currently, the Auxiliary has 45 members.
