The Taylor Intermediate Boys 50-70 All-Star Team has won the 2014 Intermediate 50/70 Central Region Championship, and has earned a berth in the World Series, to be played in California.

But now, the team and parents involved could use your help. The All-Stars will be flying out on Sunday (July 27). The expenses for the trip to California lie entirely with the individual families involved. The sponsor organization, Taylor Northwest Little League, is a 501(c)3 non-profit, so donations are tax-deductible.

Anyone wishing to help out the team with travel expenses can make checks payable to the Taylor Northwest Little League, 9350 Westlake, Taylor, MI, 48180. The league's federal ID number is 38-2483269.

Taylor was the lone unbeaten team in the Central Region tournament, held at the Milward Little League complex in Kalamazoo. The team advanced with an 8-5 victory over Indiana in the championship game Thursday, July 24. Taylor had edged Indiana 5-4 on Tuesday. Before that, they had crushed Kentucky, 19-1, and beaten Iowa, 12-4.

The team is coached by Brett Hall, Tom Wells Jr. and Lanny Hall Jr.

Thus far, those team include Canyon Creek (California), Barboursville (West Virginia) and Nogales (Arizona). Six other international qualifiers will complete the bracket. Those include teams from Asia-Pacific, Canada, Europe, Latin America and Puerto Rico.
