Trolley East Industrial Park Reconstruction
The City of Taylor kicked off its Trolley East Industrial Park Rehabilitation project with a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 22, 2013. Road improvements will be made on Trolley Drive throughout the industrial park and new water main that services the park will be installed under I-94 at Pelham Road as recommended in the City’s water master plan. In September 2010, the City became the first Michigan recipient of a U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) Public Works Grant, receiving $1.4 million for the project. Since EDA grants require a 1:1 match, the City proactively budgeted funding to match the grant. Wade Trim assisted the City in their grant application as well as planning, design and construction engineering for the project. Expected to be completed this summer, the $2.8 million infrastructure upgrade will bolster the industrial park's ability to attract and retain business and stimulate the local economy.
