This is another reminder about the Taylor Animal Shelter's annual Pet Adoption Day, which is Saturday, May 10.

It runs from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the shelter, which is located next to the Taylor DPW on Northline and Beech Daly.

Questions have come up about fees. The general fees will be the standard ones (see below). However, a vet will be on hand and will be offering some discounts.

The fee for an animal license is $20 for non-spayed/neutered animals. The fee is $10 for spayed/neutered animals. Payment in cash or credit/debit card only. The license runs the calendar year. Licenses for the new year can be purchased at the Animal Shelter starting mid-December each year.

Adoptions are $40 for non-spayed/neutered animals on a credit/debit card only. You must bring back proof of sterilization within 30 days of adoption, and $25 will be refunded on the credit/debit card. Adoptions are $15 for a spayed/neutered animal.

Live traps are available for rent. The deposit is $40 on a credit/debit card only, which is refunded to the card when the trap is returned. The traps are rented out for 2 weeks and Animal Control will come and empty them while you have it.

For any animals belonging to Taylor residents, the fee is $50. For non-residents, the fee is $75. The hours for this service are Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (during the regular week).
