Wood Duck Dash 5K, 10K and kids run at Lake Erie Metropark
The fifth annual Wood Duck Dash – a series of three events – is scheduled for August 14 at Lake Erie Metropark.
The day includes a 5K run/walk, a 10K run and a half-mile kids fun run. Registration is scheduled for 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. The races start at 9 a.m. at the Lake Erie Metropark Wave Pool Food Bar.
The certified course includes the shores of Lake Erie and scenic nature trails.
The entry fee is $23 through August 13 at Total Runner, 15265 Dix-Toledo Road in Southgate, or $25 on race day at the park.
Medals will be presented in both the 5K and the 10K to the top male female overall and masters, plus three deep to males and females in age groups ranging from 13 and under to 80 and older.
Entrants will receive a tech shirt. The races will be D-tag timed by Everal Race Management of Taylor.
The event has been reviewed for physical activity content and has been endorsed by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports.
Lake Erie Metropark is located at 32481 West Jefferson in Brownstown Township.
The park is part of the Huron-Clinton Metropark Authority. A vehicle entry permit is required. Rates are $5 for a daily pass, $25 for an annual pass and $15 for an annual pass for seniors.
