The City of Taylor is seeking applicants for the following:

 

Golf, Parks, and Recreation Positions:


Facility Shift Manager-

Assists with scheduling and supervision of employees as well as supervise programs while on duty. Answer/return resident phone calls.  Coordinate scheduling of rentals.  Must perform light cleaning and direct staff to maintain a clean facility. Strong customer service skills and previous supervisory experience are required. Some light cleaning. Flexible works hours are a must, with some shifts starting at 6:00 am.  Candidates must be able to work evenings and weekends.


 All persons hired for a Golf, Parks and Recreation position will be utilized in more than one facility as needed.


Taylor Golf Events Facilitator -


The Event Facilitator is responsible for the execution of all events from point of booking through the completion of the event.  The Event Facilitator is required to be on-site for events and to manage banquet staff delegating tasks as needed.  It is expected that the Event Facilitator be available days, nights and weekends to manage events and to meet with potential and current customers. This position requires both sales and event management experience.  The ideal candidate possesses excellent organization and communication skills. Candidates with knowledge of Golf and/or Banquet experience are preferred. Candidates must have the ability to manage multiple tasks with ease and with limited notice. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.  


Line Cook-


Primary responsibilities include cooking, plating and garnishing orders and prep and portion control. Broiler, grill, fryer, sauté and pantry experience needed. Candidates need to possess experience in weekly and daily cleaning and maintenance of all cooking areas as well as cleaning and maintenance of food and beverage storage facilities and refrigeration and cooking appliances. Candidates must possess ability to communicate with all staff members and supervisors and listen effectively. Banquet/Catering experience desirable.


Salary is negotiable based on experience. Candidate will be scheduled twenty (20) to thirty (30) hours per week and must be available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.  Shift times vary depending on events and other business activities.


Child Center Team Member –Recreation Center


As a Child Center Team Member, you will provide members and their children with a safe, healthy and inviting environment in which to play while allowing parents to work out using the facility. Candidates must be able to implement and organize fun and entertaining activities and games for children, monitor and interact with children to maintain a safe and health environment with respect to the toys, other children, and surroundings, clean and maintain the Child Center by following the cleaning checklist and performing assigned tasks, and exhibit outstanding customer service by developing positive relationships with members. Previous experience preferred.  Candidates must be available to work morning, evening, and weekend shirts.  

 

Customer Service Personnel- 


Candidates must be able to perform a variety of customer service related duties and assist the manager on duty with general supervision of facility and programs. Candidates must be able to answer phones, schedule rentals, accurately record payments and maintain front lobby area. Candidates will be expected to clean the facility as needed. A flexible work schedule is a must with some shifts starting at 6:00 am.  Candidates must be able to work evenings and weekends.

 

Weight Room Attendee- 


Candidates must be able to perform a variety of customer service related duties and assist the manager on duty with general supervision of facility and programs. Candidates are responsible for maintaining the second floor gym and cardio rooms and ensure that all safety precautions are adhered to for members using the exercise equipment. A flexible work schedule is a must with some shifts starting at 6:00 am.  Candidates must be able to work nights and weekends.

 

Taylor Sportsplex:

 

Concessions-


Candidates must possess ability to prepare snack type foods and operate a cash register.  Candidates need to be able to work 10-20 hours a week and must be available Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and weekends from 8:00am until 10:00 p.m.

 

Event Staff-


Candidates must possess ability to perform duties score-keeper and skate guard, service customers, and clean facility. Candidates need to be able to work 10-20 hours a week and must be available Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and weekends from 8:00am until 10:00 p.m.


Building, Grounds, & Parks Maintenance:


Temporary Building, Grounds, & Parks Positions-


The City is seeking candidates for temporary positions to perform grass cutting and various related duties as assigned.  Candidates must be able to operate a riding mower and be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license. Candidates need to be available Monday through Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Hourly rate for position is $10.00 an hour. 


Department of Public Services/DPW: 


Temporary DPW Positions-


The City is seeking candidates for temporary positions to perform grass cutting and various related duties as assigned.  Candidates must be able to operate a riding mower and be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license. Candidates need to be available Monday through Friday from 7:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Hourly rate for position is $10.00 an hour.
