Santa arrives at Southland Center in a holiday parade

See the Man in Red in Southland Center’s sixth annual Santa’s All-American Holiday Parade starting at noon Saturday, November 11.

Riding in a Taylor fire truck down Eureka Road, and decked out in red, white and blue, this year’s Santa salute will once again feature a parade to the front doors of Southland Center.

Kicking off the season in his usual grand style, Santa and his parade will leave Taylor Fire Station 3, located on Eureka a quarter-mile east of Telegraph Road, and travel east to Southland. Santa will be accompanied by members of the Taylor Fire Department, Taylor Police Department, Taylor Honor Guard, Taylor Auxiliary Police, Southland’s own security department, Truman High School Marching Band, Kennedy High School Marching Band, City of Taylor officials and his beloved Mrs. Claus.

Shoppers interested in getting a glimpse of jolly old St. Nick can catch him from our spectator area located on the west side of the Food Court, or as he arrives through the doors of the Ruby Tuesday-Borders entrance and makes his way to Southland’s “Cabin in the Woods” in West Court.

Kevin O’Neill, WNIC-FM (100.3) program host, will be on hand as the master of ceremonies as Santa is presented the key to the city. And with that, the holiday season will officially begin.

The first 250 children will receive a Southland holiday goody bag and everyone will be able to sit with Santa and get his or her picture taken with the jolly old elf through Christmas Eve.
