Empty Bowls Dinner raises money for charities

An Empty Bowls Dinner will be held at 5:30  p.m. December 6 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall in Taylor to raise funds to help feed needy people in the Downriver area.

Those who attend will receive a decorative clay bowl made by students at the Downriver Campus of Wayne County Community College District in Taylor. Local restaurants and bakeries donate soup and bread. All proceeds go to local charities. Last year, the dinner raised $4,300.

Admission is $10 per person. Reservations are not required. The hall is located at 11590 Pine Street, just a block south of Taylor City Hall.

To donate without attending the dinner, make checks payable to Downriver Empty Bowls and mail them to Carl Kamulski, WCCCD, 21000 Northline Road, Taylor, MI 48180.
