Skore Lanes in Taylor is offering non-smoking sections to bowlers who prefer a smoke-free atmosphere.

Similar to a restaurant, visitors to the bowling establishment at 22255 Ecorse Road in Taylor will be greeted by someone who asks if they prefer a smoking or non-smoking section.

"The customers are a little surprised by this, when asked, but most seem to choose the non-smoking section," said Event Planner Fran Wood.

Besides normal smoke-free times, the smoke-free zones will be available any time that open bowling is offered. The number of lanes will vary based on the open lanes at the time in question. A stand-up easel with a "smoke-free zone" sign will be displayed on the concourse between the non-smoking and smoking lanes.

"People coming in for open bowling will be given a choice of smoking, smoke-free or first available before they are assigned to a lane," Wood said.

The non-smoking hours at Skore Lanes are:
 
Mondays - Noon to 4 p.m.
Tuesdays - 9 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Wednesdays - 3 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Thursdays - 9 a.m. to Noon
Fridays - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Saturdays - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sundays - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
