Starbucks grand-opening extravaganza is January 26

The grand-opening celebration of the new Starbucks store at 23300 Eureka Road is set for Friday, January 26.

Highlights include:

-Participation by the Taylor Fire Department, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

- Ribbon cutting featuring Mayor Cameron G. Priebe, 10 a.m.

- $5 Starbucks cards given to the first 50 customers, 10 a.m.

- Entertainment by a woodwind quintet (with a Starbucks barista), Noon

- Performance by Brake Middle School students, 1 to 2:15 p.m.

- Jannie Annie the Clown, 4:15 p.m.

- Raffle drawing, 5 p.m.

- Vocalist Ashley Areeda (a Starbucks barista), 6 to 7 p.m.

The next day, Kurt Sebaly from The Penrickton Center for Blind Children in Taylor will collect donations and talk about the center's work.

Regular business hours are 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
