Candlelight vigil remembers Army Spc. Holly McGeogh
A candlelight vigil for Army Spc. Holly McGeogh is set for 7 p.m. January 31 in the parking lot of Harry S Truman High School.
McGeogh's friends are organizing the event that marks the third anniversary of her death.
A 2002 Truman graduate, McGeogh was active in the JROTC program at the high school and enlisted in the Army after graduating. She was killed January 31, 2004, while riding in a convoy in Iraq when a bomb exploded along a road near the city of Kirkuk.
Each year on the anniversary of her death, McGeogh's friends and family gather at Truman to honor and remember her.
