Walk for Warmth February 24 at Southland
Saturday, February 24, 2007

Southland Shopping Center in Taylor
In 2006, Wayne-Metro Community Action Agency was able to help thousands of people during their energy crisis, but hundreds more were turned away when funds ran out. Low-income families spend one of every $5 they earn to heat their homes during the winter months. Many will struggle. You can help!
Saturday's one-of-a-kind event raises funds to assist Out-Wayne County residents facing heat related emergencies.
Last year with the help of concerned businesses, community organizations and area residents, the event raised more than $45,000. Matching funds from the Michigan Community Action Agency Association and the Heat and Warmth Fund (T.H.A.W) increased that total and helped children, families and seniors during their greatest time of need.
