Texas Hold'em Tournament supports Taylor schools foundation

A Texas Hold'em poker tournament is scheduled for March 9 at Taylor Meadows Golf Club. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The tournament begins at 7 p.m.

Tickets are available from the Board of Education Office on Northline Road in front of Kennedy High School or by calling Cathy Busatti at (734) 374-1209 or Amy Skehan at (313) 295-5742.

The entry fee is $100, which may be deductible since the game benefits the Taylor School District's Foundation for Educational Excellence, a nonprofit independent organization of volunteers committed to enriching the educational environment of the school district.

The foundation strives to maintain and enhance the excellent reputation of the district by building a broad base of financial support. The mission is to generate, manage and distribute financial and other resources to the Taylor public schools for the purpose of assisting and supplementing district programs and projects designed to enhance the quality of education.

Prizes in the tournament are $1,000, $500, $200 and $100. Food will be provided and there will be a cash bar. There is a $10 cover charge for guests and non-players.
