Tickets on sale for Taylor Rotary's $5,000 Dinner Raffle
The Rotary Club of Taylor's 27th annual $5,000 Dinner Raffle will take place from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, March 30, at Crystal Gardens in Southgate.
Attendees will enjoy a gourmet dinner, cocktails and a chance to win the $5,000 grand prize. Numerous door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening and a silent auction also will be held. A disk jockey will provide additional entertainment.
The $150 ticket price per person includes hors d'oeuvres, fillet and lobster dinner, complete dessert display, premium bar and an entry into the $5,00 drawing. Dinner-only tickets are $60 per person. The event has sold out each of the previous 26 years.
Some of the proceeds will be used to support the purchase of an ATV for the Taylor Fire Department. The rest will be contributed to community charities and events.
Several of the Taylor Rotary "Projects of Excellence" are: support for the Taylor Conservatory and Botanical Garden; sponsoring the annual Children's Fishing Derby during the Meijer Taylor Summer Festival; Christmas gift boxes to Nicaraugua's Children of the Dump project; the "Turn Off the Violence annual community picnic; support for the Penrickton Center for Blind Children; and scholarships for Taylor college-bound students.
"The Taylor Rotary dinner raffle promises to be an exciting event, said Rotary President Jan Szabla. "The event offers a gourmet meal, $5,000 drawing, silent auction and various other side bets, with the proceeds going to many worthy things."
