Taylor Garden Walk is June 30; tickets on sale now
Seven private gardens and the Taylor Community Garden in Heritage Park will be part of the 2007 Taylor Garden Walk, set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 30.
The public walk – sponsored by the Taylor Garden Club and held every other year – allows visitors the opportunity to inspect unique gardens throughout the city.
The tour of the gardens will end at the Heritage Park Log Cabin, where there will be complimentary cookies and lemonade as well as vendors with many garden-related items.
Garden Walk tickets are $8, available at Massab Acres, D & L Gardens, Sigurs Florist and Heritage Perk, as well as from Garden Walk Chairwoman Nancy Smith (734-287-6851) or ticket sales Chairwoman Joan Teetzel (313-295-4299).
There also will be a raffle of a garden bench built by the building trades students in the Taylor School District, a large four-wheel garden wagon, a handcrafted queen-size quilt, a basket filled with garden-related items and a copy of the Taylor Garden Club recipe book “Tasteful Garden Treasures.” Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
The recipe book includes great gardening tips. Copies may be purchased at the end of the walk in the crafters and artisans area near the log cabin. The book sells for $15.
The Taylor Garden Club meets from 6:30 to 9 p.m. the third Thursday of the month from September to June at the William Ford Senior Activity Center, 6750 Troy. New members and guests are welcome.
