Emergency nurses honored with proclamations by Taylor, others
The cities of Taylor, Dearborn, Trenton and Wayne and Canton Township have each adopted a proclamation honoring Oakwood’s many emergency nurses in recognition of Emergency Nurses Week, October. 7-13, and Emergency Nurses Day on Wednesday, October. 10.
Each city is a location for one of Oakwood’s five emergency departments in southeast Michigan, which combined, sees nearly 200,000 patients annually. Oakwood Heritage Hospital is located in Taylor.
“Oakwood’s emergency nurses are committed to making an impact in patients’ lives each and every day,” said Joanne McKay, RN, administrator of emergency services, Oakwood Healthcare System. “We are extremely proud and honored that each of the cities where our emergency departments are located have recognized the professional skills and heartfelt compassion our nurses provide to the citizens of each community.”
Each year for the past 18 years, the Emergency Nurses Association designates the second week of October as Emergency Nurses Week. This year’s theme is “Stepping into their lives when they need you the most.”
