Music "In The Mix" free monthly concert series starts Feb. 6 in Taylor
Music “In the Mix,” a free three-concert series scheduled for the first Wednesdays in February, March and April, will showcase three musical styles – classical, jazz and steel drums - in a chamber music setting.
The series is presented by the Downriver Council for the Arts (DCA) and Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) and will take place in the Ray Mix Room at the WCCCD Downriver Campus, 21000 Northline Road, Taylor. All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m.
The concert schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, February 6 - The Doree’ String Quartet from the Southern Great Lakes Symphony.
Wednesday, March 5 - The Gratitude Steel Band, providing a little touch of the islands in an interactive performance.
Wednesday, April 2 - The Royal Garden Trio + One, traditional jazz with a distinctly nontraditional sound.
The Ray Mix Room is located in the WCCCD main classroom building, a fully accessible facility. Ample free parking is available.
