Applications accepted for City of Taylor election workers
The City of Taylor is accepting applications for election workers through May 12, City Clerk Mary Ann Rilley announced.
Those interested in working elections must be willing to work from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. (or later) on election days. Elections slated for 2008 consist of the August 5 Primary Election and the November 4 General Election. The November election includes the election for President of the United States and is predicted to be a high voter turnout. Wages are $135 for general workers and $175 for chairpersons.
Applicants must be registered to vote in Wayne County for eligibility to work elections. Those between 16 and voting age must reside in Wayne County. Election training will be held May 14-15 in Taylor. Applications must be received in the City Clerk’s Office by Monday, May 12, for applicants to be eligible for training. Walk-ins will not be accepted during training.
