Taylor Rotary's Turn Off the Violence

The annual Turn Off the Violence family event sponsored by the Rotary Club of Taylor is scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 24, at Heritage Park.

The free event is meant to get families away from the television, out of the house and into a family setting with positive activities.

The day includes food, music, face painting, puppets, a Moon Walk, free tooth brushes from Dr. Steven Shwedel and staff, and participation by the Taylor Sportsplex, Taylor Lanes, Taylor Golf Department, Taylor Police Department canine unit and Taylor Fire Department. Ronald McDonald is scheduled to make a special appearance.

A variety of nonprofit organizations will be on hand to distribute helpful literature and to answer questions.

The event typically draws hundreds of people to Heritage Park, which is located at 12111 Pardee Road.
