Bowling benefit to assist family of inspirational Taylor cancer victim
A night of bowling will raise funds for the family of a local Realtor who is battling a rare form of thyroid cancer with no known cure.
The fund-raiser for the family of Taylor resident Rene Louis is scheduled for Friday, December 4, at Taylor Lanes, 24800 Eureka Road.
Advance registration is necessary. Check-in is scheduled for 6 p.m., followed by nine-pin, no-tap bowling at 6:45 p.m. Music and dancing in the lounge begins at 9:30 p.m. The poker room also will be open. Mystery games, lucky strike contests and raffles will be going on throughout the night.
Tickets are $20 each, which includes three games of bowling, shoes and pizza.
Rene is an agent at Century 21 Americal and has been a member of the Downriver Association of Realtors for many years. Rosanne Couvreur, associate broker and owner of Century 21 Americal, called Rene "an inspiration to all with her optimistic attitude regarding her disease." Rene lives in Taylor with her husband Brian and their children.
Rosanne said she is also seeking donations for the raffles, suggesting cash, gift cards, gift baskets of any size and new items of any kind, such as wine or liquor. She said items can be delivered to Century 21 Americal's Brownstown office at 23537 Telegraph Road, Suite 105, or she will be happy to pick up the donations.
