Patrol Division

Commander John Blair               Patrol Division Commander      (734) 374-1390

Shift Command  Desk                (734) 374-1410

The Taylor Police Patrol Division is made up of 50 patrol officers, 12 public service officers, six sergeants and three lieutenants. All three shifts are overseen by a Patrol Commander. The Patrol Division operates on three 8-hour shifts of midnights, days and afternoons.

The Patrol Division is essential in apprehending offenders and repressing criminal behavior. It furthers the Department's community policing goals by encouraging a positive relationship with the community and by assisting residents and businesses with resolving nuisance-type issues. Several officers are assigned to the traffic section. Three officers work as K-9 handlers. Besides the black and white patrol cars seen throughout the city, officers also use motorcycles and mountain bikes to serve the community.

The uniformed officers are the most visible to the community, as they are responsible for enforcing the criminal laws of the State and City.  The patrol division also provides traffic enforcement, accident investigation, and crime prevention activities.  The men and women of the uniform division respond to calls for service from the community and uphold the mission statement established by the members of this department.
