Annual Taylor concert raises funds to help feed the Downriver needy
The Downriver Community Band will perform its third annual concert to benefit the Fish and Loaves Community Food Pantry starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, November 6, at Beacon Baptist Church, 21721 Northline Road, Taylor.
The band will perform big band and holiday music. Proceeds will benefit Fish and Loaves, a nonprofit organization serving needy people in Taylor, Allen Park, Brownstown Township and Dearborn Heights, Romulus and Southgate.
Tickets are $10; $8 for seniors and children. Tickets are available at area churches; Taylor's William D. Ford Senior Activity Center, 6750 Troy; the Taylor Recreation Center, 22805 Goddard Road; and the Fish and Loaves Distribution Center, 25670 Northline Road, Taylor.
Previous years' concerts have drawn huge crowds.
"This is a great way for people to get ready for the holiday season, enjoying big band and holiday music. It will be a fun and entertaining evening -- and a great way to ensure that no one in the Downriver area goes hungry," said Connie Fedel, event coordinator and board member of Fish and Loaves. "
