Taylor senior citizens can enjoy recreation activities at discounted rates during the year. At $25, the Senior Golf Activity Card is a great gift idea for the holidays or any time of year. The card is on sale now at the Taylor Recreation Center, 22805 Goddard Road. For more information call (734) 374-3901 Hall and Pavilion Rentals The Ford Senior Center offers both hall and pavilion rental. With a full working kitchen, the banquet hall affords many possibilities for catered affairs. For a more casual gathering, the outdoor pavilion provides shelter, lighting and a sound system in an open air setting overlooking the grounds. Ask about special rates for seniors and Taylor residents. Birthday Bash Let us celebrate your birthday at our monthly birthday bash on the last Thursday of each month from 2 to 4 p.m. The party is on us! We’ll provide the cake, ice cream, and entertainment, you just show up ready for fun. Get ready for some great music and karaoke! Please RSVP to the center a week ahead of time (313) 291-7740. Classes Senior Day Picnic The annual picnic for seniors is an all-day event in August at the Senior Center. The event features a great time with lots of food, fun and friends. There is special entertainment and prizes available throughout the day as well. You must be a Taylor resident to participate. Admission is $5 and advanced registration forms are available at the center. Downriver Senior Olympics Taylor seniors are invited to compete in the annual Downriver Senior Olympics, held in a variety of locations throughout the region, including the Ford Senior Center in Taylor. The City of Riverview hosted the 2006 games, which were held July 31-August 4, and concluded with an awards banquet. Taylor seniors interested in participating should register at the Ford Senior Center by June 30. Come on out and join the fun! Caregiver Support Group Adult Well-Being Services, along with the Ford Senior Center, would like to start a caregiver support group, once a month. Those interested may call the Senior Center at (313) 291-7740 or stop in the office to sign up. |
