Billiards - We have a beautiful billiards room  with three active pool tables available for daily use.

Bingo - Come and join the fun! Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. A quarter a card.

Birthday Bash - Let us celebrate your birthday at our monthly birthday bash on the last Thursday of each month (12:20-3 p.m.). The party is on us! We'll provide the cake, ice cream and entertainment -- you just show up ready for fun. Get ready for some great music and karaoke! Please RSVP at the center a week ahead of time at (313) 291-7740.  All seniors are welcome to celebrate all year round.

Bowling - Come bowl with us, make some friends and get a little exercise. We have a Wednesday bowling league at Skore Lanes from  September 15 through April. It is a fun league and you attend only when you want. The cost of bowling is $5.75 for three games, plus $1 fee for the first time you bowl. For further info call us at (313) 291-7740.

Classes - There are two semesters: Fall and Winter (12 weeks).  You must register for each semester. A sample of some of the classes offered: Tai Chi, Line Dancing, Ballroom Dancing, Exercise, Painting, Art, and Oil Painting.

Computer Room - We have a computer room with several computers and free internet access. We also have free WiFi available.

Dances - We have monthly themed dances with entertainment. See our "Trips and Events" page for details.

Lunch - Lunch is served daily at 11:30 a.m. courtesy of the Wayne County Senior Citizen Nutrition Program. The suggested donation is $2.25. You must RSVP by noon the day before you plan to attend.

Ping Pong - Ping pong is played daily at the Senior Center in the Bill Dobek Ping Pong Room.

Fitness Room - This room, equipped with cable TV, is available Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. to those who have taken the required equipment training class. This free class is held every other Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Instruction Joe DeMattio (who also teaches other classes -- see links at the bottom of this page). We have treadmills, Stairmasters, stationary bikes and more.

Strength Training Classes - This is scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon-1 p.m. Fee is $40 (payable to the instructor Jeremy Daum). Classes run for four weeks. Join at anytime!

Volunteer Opportunities - The center relies on volunteers for various tasks. Please call or stop by the office to leave your name and number if you can help in any way.

Tai Chi Classes: Eight-week session starts April 20 and ends June 8. Cost is $24 for residents, $30 for nonresidents, and is payable at the first class. Classes will be held from 9-10:20 a.m. for beginners and 10:30-11:30 for intermediates.In addition to learning a traditional tai chi movement form, you will learn the Harvard Medical School tai chi warm-up that gently works each joint in your body and greatly enhances your breathing. Tai chi is also recommended as a safe and effective exercise program for seniors by the Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins and many other major medical facilities.Medical research has shown that tai chi can improve balance, strength, breathing, flexibility and endurance.  It has also been shown to reduce blood pressure and stress levels and enhance the immune system. Tai chi provides an exercise system you can use for your entire life. Sign-up for this session until May 4. Bob Correll is the instructor.
