Kicking off the series in May will be Atomic Radio, billed “Detroit’s Premiere Cover Band.” The Royal Oak-based band has a reputation for packing dance floors across the region, so get ready to get up on your feet to some of the most popular tunes around.
On June 7, following the opening day of the Taylor Farmer’s Market, it’ll be the Autumn Kings, an independent rock/pop band from LaSalle, Ontario. They recently released a 12-song debut album (“Silver Screens”) that generated over 2.6M Spotify Streams and over 42M plays across Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.
Larry Lee & the Back in the Day Band will bring their unique brand of Funk, Motown, Blues and Soul to the stage on August 2. They have been featured on local news, frequent Arts, Beats & Eats, as well as Plymouth Music in the Air and quite a few other events. Football fans might remember Lee: A native of Dayton, Ohio, and eventually UCLA, he was drafted in the fifth round of the 1981 NFL drafted by the Detroit Lions. Played eight NFL seasons with Lions, Miami and Denver. He was also eventually director of football operations for Detroit.
The series will finish with popular Jill Jack on September 6. Jack has won an astonishing 44 Detroit Music Awards. She started her career as a backup singer with well-known Detroit bands before she starting writing her own songs and fronted her own band. That started a long list of prominent touring with acts like Bob Seger, John Waite, Emmylou Harris, Shawn Colin and even the iconic Loretta Lynn.
