Crime Prevention

The nation, police and the communities they serve, are realizing that neither one can fight crime on their own. Neighbors working with neighbors—along with the police—can have a positive effect on crime prevention. Home burglaries, for example, can be reduced when residents take steps to make their homes more secure thus making them less attractive and vulnerable to burglars. By educating the community on crime prevention techniques and by getting citizens involved in crime prevention activities such as neighborhood watch, we can reduce the number of crimes in Taylor and increase the quality of life for its citizens.

The Taylor Police Department is a proud member of the Crime Prevention Association of Michigan and the American Crime Prevention Institute.
