Grand Re-opening of the Taylor Veterans Museum
Saturday, May 15, 2021
The Taylor Veterans Museum has moved to its new suite in the Media Center building, located where the old courthouse was located in the middle of the City Hall Campus. This event is hosted jointly by the City of Taylor and the Taylor Museum Commission.
This two-hour ribbon cutting and open house takes the place of the annual Armed Forces Day Celebration this year, because of concerns over the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The museum, previously located in City Hall, has been closed his March 2020 due to the virus.
The Taylor Museum Commission plans a return to a tradition Armed Forces Day Celebration in 2022.
Visitors may tour the new site in small groups, social distancing and wearing masks.
Featured speakers during the ribbon cutting ceremony will be Mayor Rick Sollars and Museum Commission Vice Chairperson Evie Chateauvert. Mayor Sollars will discuss the renovation of the building, and Chateauvert will talk about future plans for the museum.
