COVID-19 UPDATE: New Ann Arbor ordinance limits social gatherings

According to the Wayne County Report for August 28, 2020, with more students headed back to Ann Arbor, an emergency ordinance has been put in place to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

On August 24, the Ann Arbor City Council unanimously passed the temporary emergency ordinance, which limits social gatherings and requires face coverings. The ordinance is effective immediately. Violation is a civil infraction with a fine between $100 and $250.

In the countywide COVID-19 data for August 27, 2020, Taylor recorded six more confirmed cases, upping its total to 959. There was one death, upping that total to 74.
