COVID-19 UPDATE: New effort tracks school cases nationwide

A new national effort asks K-12 schools to voluntarily – and anonymously – report their confirmed and suspected coronavirus cases, along with the safety strategies they’re using. That and more in the Wayne County Report for September 24, 2020.

The COVID-19 School Response Dashboard was created with the help of several national education organizations. Currently it only shows data for a small fraction of students in the United States, but it will be continuously updated and more schools are expected to participate.

The countywide health data for September 23, 2020, confirmed that Taylor had three new cases of COVID-19 (1,027 recorded this year) and no new deaths (78).

NOTE: Free COVID-19 testing at Sportsplex this weekend, and various flu vaccines at the Taylor Made Market Friday, September 25 (see below).
