COVID-19 UPDATE: Some Phase 1B essential workers may be vaccinated

The Michigan Health and Human Services Department and Governor Gretchen Whitmer have announced that starting January 11, some Phase 1B essential workers including school and childcare staff, frontline responders, and staff in jails, prisons, and shelters may be vaccinated. This and more in the Wayne County Report for January 7, 2021.

With this announcement, Wayne County is in the process of vaccinating all of Phase 1A. There are many organizations within Phase 1A that are still awaiting vaccination. Shipment of vaccine supply from the state has been limited. Vaccine supply will largely be the determining factor for when Wayne County can complete Phase 1A and move to the next phase, Phase 1B.
