COVID-19 UPDATE: Beaumont works quickly to vaccinate front-line workers, employees

As one of the first Michigan health systems to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, Beaumont has been working since mid-December to vaccinate front line workers and employees as quickly as possible. That and more in the Wayne County Report for January 11, 2021.

Beaumont has announced that they will begin sending invitations to schedule vaccine appointments to people 65 and older starting today (January 11). Currently, there are no walk-in appointments at any Beaumont location.

The countywide health data released January 10 showed Taylor had eight newly confirmed cases, upping its total to 2,892. There were no new COVID-related deaths – although five were reported earlier in the weekend, upping the overall mark to 121.

The City strongly suggests that residents always wear masks when and where they are recommended. Residents can pick up free reusable face masks at City Hall. Please social distance and sanitize your hands on a regular basis to best avoid the virus.

Also note that free COVID-19 testing is available at the Lakes of Taylor Golf Course. It is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. This is a drive-thru testing facility open to anyone in the region. The Lakes of Taylor is located on Northline Road between Telegraph and Beech Daly.
